New Opportunity For Athlete

5 Mar by Kyle Beach

Greetings Athletes,

With the latest bylaws (section 15) there is now an athletes council and we are beginning the process starting that up. Each series can provide one athlete to be their series ambassador to the council. This process can be an election, appointment or any way chosen by the Series Director(s). A request is that they be appointed prior to USASA National Championships, so they can network with fellow ambassadors.

Duties of an Ambassador:

Attend the Athletes Council Meeting to elect a new Athletes Representative (alternating each year between Snowboard and FreeSki.) For the 2026/2027 season the FreeSki representative position is up.

An initial virtual meeting is being planned for late April with the official meeting to occur in the fall prior to the annual meeting.

Requirements to be an ambassador:

Member of good standing with the USASA in the 2025/2026 season

At least 14 years of age

Some guidelines

Compete with the USASA for two or more years

Have the time to be a part of the Athletes Council, expected to be a minimum of a few hours a year.

Asks of those who are on the council:

Share their impressions with the Athletes Representatives

Help with the nominating process and finding candidates

If attending nationals meet up with the Athletes Representative(s) and other council members.

They can be appointed here: https://forms.gle/RNquu81eLKHA2hvz6

If you have any questions then please reach out to Scott, Jordan or Mitchell.
